IMPORTANT INSURED FUNDS INFORMATION:The National Credit Union Administration's (NCUA) share insurance protection has been raised from $100,000 to $250,000 on all account types.  Contact NCUA's Consumer Assistance Center between 8am and 6pm (EDT) at 1-800-755-1030, press 1 for share insurance questions or log on to www.ncua.gov.  It will take SCU time to change over all decals, lobby signs and brochures as NCUA informed us of these physical items being available for purchase within the next four weeks.  Thank you.

The Teen Scene...CD at 10% APY*!...Yes, you are reading correctly.  For a limited time, Shipbuilders is offering a CD special for ages 12 up to 18, at an incredible 10% APY!  With a $100 initial deposit and ability to make additional deposits quarterly, your teen can boost their bottom line...fast.  Contact a Member Services Representative for details. *APY signifies Annual Percentage Yield.  Certificate restrictions are as follows: must be between ages 12 up to 18.  Upon initial deposit of $100 in minor's account, parent/guardian must maintain a share draft account with direct deposit.  Additional deposits to certificate can be made at a minimum of $25 to a maximum of $100 per calendar quarter.  When a $1,000 balance is attained via either deposit and/or interest earnings, deposits will no longer be allowed.  Upon reaching the age of 18, balance of certificate will also transfer to the minor's savings account.  Other restrictions do apply.

SCHOOL BRANCH AT WILSON JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL NOW OPEN.....Shipbuilders Credit Union's first school branch is now open.  Two Wilson students, who were trained at the Washington Street location in August, are representing the credit union, handling withdrawal and deposit transactions for the student members.  The branch is open from 7:15am - 7:45am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

SCU'S DEBIT CARD COMES EQUIPPED WITH A WATCH DOG!  Just like credit cards, you now have 24-7 protection against savvy perpetrators of debit card fraud.  That's because the debit cards we issue are protected by FraudWatch PLUS.  Experienced fraud analysts watch for any suspicious card activity and will contact you immediately if they detect potential fraud on your card.  An example of this is your card being used outside your typical usage patterns.  We may call you or, if you ever receive a call from "Fraud Protection Services", know that our watch dog is doing its job to ensure your card has not been compromised.
